Mobilization Update #1
8/31/2007
Global capitalism is facing unprecedented global resistance!
In Latin America – Bolivia, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Venezuela are taking steps to leave the IMF and the World Bank.
In Africa – people in Ghana are rising up against water privatization.
In Asia – Indian social movements are planning to put the IMF, World Bank, and Asian Development Bank on trial before a people’s tribunal in New Delhi in October.
Here in the United States – twenty thousand people gathered for the first ever U.S. Social Forum, and public housing residents in Washington DC are fighting the sale of their buildings to private developers.
Be a part of these global movements – come to Washington, DC, from October 18-21 to confront the forces of global capitalism during the IMF/World Bank meetings!
