Date/Time:
Tue, 9/1 - 12:30pm to 4:00pm

We demand JUSTICE for the brutal transmisogynistic attack endured by Nicole!

Come help us show support for Nicole during Abigail Hallowell's bench trial to demonstrate that transmisogyny is never acceptable.

We as a community need to work together in fighting the racist transmisogyny that fueled this attack.

Please arrive at the Flying Squirrel Community Center (285 Clarissa St. in Corn Hill) at 12:30 pm. We will gather there first and march to the Hall of Justice carrying signs supporting Nicole. During the trial we will rally outside the court house to show our support.

There will be a separate event to make t-shirts that say “I Stand with Nicole” before this event, so stay tuned for more information about that shortly!

See event details at: https://www.facebook.com/events/738482379613837/741120089350066/

Please note:

Rally at the Flying Squirrel Community Space, 285 Clarissa St., to gather and march to court.

Court starts at 2:00pm.

The judge hearing the bench trial in the case of the people v. Abigail Hallowell is Judge Teresa Johnson

The end time noted for this event does not necessarily indicate the time when the case will be over. It is an approximation.

Account Creation Policy Change

Rochester Indymedia is now requiring editor approval for account creation.

We came to this decision after we had repeated spam posted to our website that caused difficulty with the website's functioning.  We will still have open publishing and keep our site as nonrestrictive and accessible as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.  As before, we will continue to be Rochester's grassroots news and education site.  Thank you for your continued support and remember, "Don't hate the media, be the media!"

Editorial Meeting Times / Locations

The Rochester Independent Media Center (R-IMC) is no longer meeting regularly.
We will set up meetings by necessity and appointment. Please contact us at rochesterindymedia@rocus.org.
Our home is still the Flying Squirrel Community Space at 285 Clarissa St. Occasionally, we hold meetings at RCTV located at 21 Gorham Street.
