Crowd of Over 100 Protests City Budget Cuts

About 150 folks marched around city hall today, demanding the current city budget be rejected because of its cuts to city schools.
Inside, the city counsil held a public hearing on the budget and the majority of folks spoke out against the cuts.

Many argued that cuts to schools are will lead to even more fiscal problems in the long run since they lead to increased crime and more families migrating from the cities to the suburbs. Others pointed out that education should be a higher priority than projects like the fast ferry, renaissance center, the new soccer stadium and music festivals.
People present showed a very intense energy and were very passionate about keeping city schools open and running well. Later this week I'll post a more detailed report of hearing, hopefully with audio of the people who spoke.
